Rare Brass Mother Of Pearl Olive Wood Synagogue Set Of 3 Charity Tzedakah Boxes, Palestine, Ca 1900.
The three boxes are set on an olive wood stand inlaid with mother of pearl Stars of David, geometrical ornaments, carved with the Western Wall and Rachel’s Tomb view and their with inlaid mother of pearl titles.
The three octagonal brass charity boxes with a fitted wooden lids and slots for inserting the charity, each box is set with a wooden medallion with inscription for various purposes of the charity: “visit of a patient”, “wedding ceremony”, “Hevra Kaddisha” (Burial society).
This pre-Bezalel rare set was made to be used in synagogues.
Very good condition, the brass was recently polished, with some dents which are fixable be we didn’t want to change its original condition.
